Mary's birthday cake

Posted by
LauraS (Chico, United States) on 15 September 2011 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

Mary had a birthday while we were in Mendocino/Caspar last week. This is the traditional cake her daughter makes for her that we had with a delicious BBQ salmon dinner. They insisted those were all edible flowers among the fruit.

Visual learner that I am, I enjoy taking photos, seeing others photos, and sharing them with all of you.
How I view the world may influence others to see more clearly that the world I live in is truly a beautiful and spectacular place. I hope I can share my sense of wonder with others. I see the world in beauty, awe, reverence and wonder.

Truly, I am an amateur who loves to look at my world, marvel at its beauty, diversity, and I capture a slice for myself to remember and share. Surely I get inspired by the work I see from other photographers and it moves me to try new things.

Hey was that you that posted a photo and asked a question about edible flowers a while back? If it is, the light blue flowers on this cake are the edible flower that were in question, they have a buttery/peppery taste.

@Ralph Jones: I think it was me. I still haven't taken the plunge to eat the flowers, though.
